Current situation
The eye of the storm hit the community of Las Galeras and its surrounding areas for more than 8 hours, causing extensive structural, environmental, and economic damage.
The Asociación Galerenses para el Desarrollo Sostenible, together with the Centro Dominicano de Hipoterapia, have carried out a survey with more than 60 families that have been affected and that depend on sectors such as agriculture, fishing and tourism, which have also suffered great losses by the situation.
Immediate needs
Cabarete Sostenible joins as an ally to coordinate emergency aid for this area of the Dominican Republic.

Are you in the North Coast of the Dominican Republic?
If you are in the North Coast of the DR, the Cabarete Sostenible Cocina Comunitaria is serving as a collection center for physical donations.
- Open hours to drop off any donations are Monday through Friday 9AM - 12PM.
- La Cocina Comunitaria is located in the main street of Callejon de la Loma, in between La Chabola and Swai Restaurant. Look for a large wooden sign on the right hand side.
