Join us for a transformative, hands-on visit to our community spaces, where food justice and sovereignty come to life. Whether you're planting seeds in our lush garden or savoring a traditional plant-based Dominican meal, your visit supports a deeper movement rooted in anti-racism, ecological stewardship, and community empowerment.
Step into El Jardín Comunitario:
Your visit includes:

A guided tour through the garden, highlighting plants, practices, and stories of community empowerment

An interactive chat on food sovereignty: what it means, why it matters, and how we reclaim control over local food systems

Hands-on volunteer activities such as:

Planting seeds and transplanting seedlings

Harvesting seasonal crops

Lunch at La Cocina Comunitaria:
Round out your visit with a delicious, educational experience at our community kitchen — a social enterprise dedicated to food sovereignty and heritage.

An introductory talk on Dominican cuisine, exploring its history, African and Indigenous roots, and the evolution of its flavors

A plant-based farm-to-table lunch, featuring seasonal ingredients grown at Cabarete Sostenible and sourced from local farmers
